A MASTERCHEF-STYLE TASTE CHALLENGE THAT WILL PUT TO TEST NOT JUST THE PARTICIPANTS’ PALATE, BUT ALSO HOW THE TEAM PERFORMS WHEN PUT UNDER PRESSURE FROM A REAL-LIFE TOP CHEF.
Teams are tasked with cooking a five-course meal. They are divided into smaller teams and each team is given one dish to prepare. Time-management is critical in preparing a full course meal from salads to desserts, else the team will literally go hungry! The situation becomes tougher with the added pressure of an actual five-star chef urging the participants on.
100%
SATISFACTION
The game is great for a fun team-bonding session. Cooking with team members offers a new experience for all levels of employee, from senior leaderships to interdependent teams and new joinees. The process of working on a full course meal also helps teams to fall into sync, across departments.
How Cook-it Up adds value to team?
Collaboration
Cooking a full course meal needs each team to work with the recipes, figure out resources and share them. They also need to manage and share the space, stoves and even equipment. The planning must be done such that each team gets enough time to complete the challenge. Collaboration is key to ensure this happens.
Creativity
Apart from cooking, teams must also work on the presentation of the food. The food served must be visually appealing and teams must get creative with what they have. In some cases, teams must also design their own street carts or food trucks and this adds additional points into their kitty.
Time management
Cooking is all about timing. A few minutes delay in any part of the process can result in the dish being undercooked or over done. Being precise, planning ahead and understanding the recipe is crucial for the outcome. If any one dish fails, the team’s collective points are affected.
Team Synergy
Cooking is a great way to bring teams together. Despite the challenge, teams share expertise and knowledge to get things done. They also have a great time just sharing food and learn to appreciate the efforts put into a dish.
Motivation
Cooking an entire meal is nothing short of an achievement. Chefs are highly respected for their ability to work with a small crew to churn out magic in cuisine, for customers. When a team is done with the task, getting to taste the food they have cooked, sharing stories and thus becoming familiar with each other boosts the morale of the whole team. That’s why our facilitators believe that teams that eat together, stay together.
