Junkyard Sales | Trebound.com
JUNKYARD SHARK TANK! BASED ON THE TV SHOW OF THE SAME NAME, TEAMS GET AN HOUR TO TAKE A PILE OF TRASH AND BUILD A FUNCTIONAL PRODUCT THAT CAN SOLVE A SOCIAL ISSUE.
Each team is given a set of junkyard items such as used plastic bottles, paint boxes and other items sourced from a scrap yard. Teams get 1 hour to design and build a product that must be presentable, sturdy and functional. The product is then pitched to a set of investors who will rate the product in terms of usefulness, quality, creativity. To stir things up, the funniest pitch gets brownie points.
100%
SATISFACTION
The game is ideal for sales teams as product understanding, pitch planning and negotiation skills play a huge part in the success of the activity. Confidence building is a natural outcome when the teams are asked to face a panel of judges and opponents. Non-customer facing teams also benefit from being put under the pressure of questions directly from external stakeholders and they need to be quick on the uptake

We are working with Trebound for the first time. I should say that they are quiet professional and have the best people doing the job. Adarsh from their team passionately led the activities and ensured that the entire team had fun. The whole hotel booking, food and activities were managed by them and it was value for money. Kudos

Trebound organised an office outing for us early in Jan 2019 and I definitely would say that it was brilliant. Everything from the the time we stepped in to the resort was set up well and the transition from Breakfast to activities was seamless. I would give extra kudos to the team for managing the whole thing without a hiccup and also with arranging the activities which were fun. Thanks Trebound for an awesome day out, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for team and office outings

Our experience with Trebound has been great so far. We engage with Trebound for our yearly team offsite. The energy the team exude is infectious. They make even the simplest activities different by adding their twist to it. This year we did the Kontiki boat building and sailing challenge and the experience was just out of the world. It’s nothing like we ever did in the last 10+ years. Looking forward to many more years of association with Trebound and each time the bar is set higher. Kudos to the group.
How Junkyard Sales adds value to team?
Creativity
Building a product from junk is not easy, especially if it has to be functional and win the hearts of the investors. Teams must think beyond norms to come up with something unique that can have a real-world application too. Teams have to think outside the box to build a wow product.
Presentation skills
Teams must also come up with a winning pitch that can secure them the highest points. The pitch must be short, strong and meaningful. Each part of the product must be understood well and described accurately.
Negotiation skills
Once the pitch is completed, the teams are tasked with questions from the investors as well as other teams that will challenge their product capabilities and cost. Teams must have answers to every question thrown at them and also stress on how this product could be valuable to society.
Strategy
Since this is a time bound activity, teams must strategize well in advance to decide who plans, who builds and who pitches. Using every available resource is key and the product must turn heads.
Goal setting
Each member must be aligned with the team’s product goals. What the problem is, what the product is and what the dilemma they are trying to solve is, is should be clear in everyone’s minds before the pitch begins. This alignment to common goals impacts directly on real-world working scenarios for product companies.
