Overview

The Blind Artist is a sharp, simple communication exercise. One partner is given an image the other cannot see, and has to describe it well enough for their partner to draw it accurately, using words alone, with no peeking and often no questions allowed.

The finished drawing, held up against the original, tells the whole story. The gap between them exposes, clearly and often comically, how much we assume when we communicate, how imprecise our instructions can be, and how differently the same words can be interpreted.

Swapping roles lets everyone experience describing and drawing, and the debrief turns the laughter into genuine insight about clear instruction, active listening and checking for understanding, lessons that transfer straight into everyday work.
