Each team is provided with a specialist boat design, construction plans, and a set of building materials. Their objective: build a sturdy, water-worthy vessel from scratch and take it onto the water body for the aquatic team challenge.
Construction requires every team member. Roles are allocated, resources are managed, and the clock runs throughout. The boat must not only float, but it must float with people on it. Every structural decision made during construction becomes a live consequence when the boat hits the water.
The aquatic challenge brings the activity to its spectacular finale: teams board their vessels and compete in the water. The best-crafted boat leads the day — and the team that built it carries the pride of having made something that worked under real conditions.
Each team receives a specialist boat design and construction plans. Teams study the blueprint, allocate roles — structural lead, materials manager, assemblers, decorator — and plan their construction sequence before the build begins.
Teams build their boat using the provided materials, following the design specifications while making real-time decisions about reinforcement, waterproofing, and structural stability. Facilitators evaluate safety during construction.
Once structurally complete, teams customise and decorate their vessel — incorporating team identity, company colours, or creative themes. The decoration phase builds pride of ownership before the water challenge.
